Iran’s ambassador to Russia said the country’s exports of non-oil products to the Russian Federation topped $2 billion in 2023.
Russia’s exports of non-oil products to Iran, meanwhile, decreased last year, Kazem Jalali added.
-- Iran manufactures over 1.2m cars in 11 months
The head of the Auto Industries Department of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade said about 1.23 million cars were manufactured in the country in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2023).
Mehrdad Khosravi put the number of passenger cars produced in the country from March 21, 2022, to February 22, 2023, at 980,000.
-- IMF upgrades Iran’s 2023 growth rate to 5.4%, citing oil output surge
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised up its previous economic growth projection for Iran in 2023, attributing it to a higher-than-expected increase in the country’s oil production.
Releasing its latest quarterly report, known as World Economic Outlook, the IMF said Iran’s economy grew 5.4 percent in 2023, showing a remarkable boost compared to the preceding year. The international agency had previously predicted a three-percent growth for the country’s economy in that year.

-- Qur’anic Expo in Malaysia Displays Works by Iranian Artists
An exhibition of Qur’anic arts has been set up in Putrajaya, Malaysia, with the participation representatives from a number of Muslim countries.
According to Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Malaysia Habib Reza Arazni, a number of Iranian artists have showcased their works at the expo. Other participating countries include Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Nigeria, he said.
-- WSA: Iran Becomes World’s Ninth Biggest Steel Producer
The World Steel Association (WSA) on Monday reported that Iran has improved its global standing in steel production, becoming the ninth largest producer in January 2024.
In the first month of 2024, Iranian steel mills produced a total of 2.6 million tons of steel, which is a 39.3% increase compared to the same month of 2023, as reported by the WSA.
-- Iran Ranks 1st in AI Among Islamic States
The head of Islamic World Science & Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute (ISC) Ahmad Fazelzadeh said the Islamic Republic of Iran stood in the first place among Islamic countries in terms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
Fazelzadeh expounded on the outstanding scientific status of Iran in the fourth generation (4G) technologies of the industry and also the rate of the science production in these areas.

-- Intl. children’s theater festival wraps up in Ardakan
The International Theater Festival for Children and Young Adults in Ardakan concluded its 28th edition with a grand ceremony on Sunday. The festival came to an end by honoring the winners in various categories, Mehr reported on Monday.
Among the highlights of the festival was the play "The Dream of a Horse Named Shabarang" directed by Mohammad Jahanpa, which received the best theater award. Jahanpa also took home the best director award, while Mehdi Simriz was recognized for the best screenplay.
-- Average daily gasoline consumption reaches 132m liters
Average daily gasoline consumption in Iran has reached about 132 million liters, Oil Minister Javad Oji said on Monday.
“Despite the significant temperature decline in the country in recent days, none of the country's 4,200 gas stations suffered from disruptions or fuel shortages,” Oji told reporters on the sidelines of a visit to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Dispatching Center.
-- Iran calls for expanding co-op with WHO EMRO
Health Minister Bahram Einollahi has announced the country’s readiness to foster cooperation with the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.
On the sidelines of the international conference on quality and safety in healthcare in Doha which was held from February 21 – 25, Einollahi held a meeting with Hanan Balkhi, the newly appointed WHO regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean, the health ministry’s website reported.
